With summer drawing to a close, it can be a good time for students to reflect on their break and consider how to make the most of next summer. Summer is an exciting time: it offers a much-needed break from the fast-paced routine of school and gives us a chance to recharge and enjoy ourselves. But while it’s important to relax, it’s also valuable to keep our minds engaged and learning during the break.
There are many fun and enriching programs available that allow students to continue growing academically and personally over the summer. One program I personally took part in and highly recommend is Envision by WorldStrides. This organization offers summer intensives across the United States, designed for high-achieving students from around the globe who are looking to develop both academic knowledge and leadership skills.
Envision offers a wide range of programs focused on fields such as engineering, nursing, law, business, and more. These intensives are hosted at top-tier universities and feature lectures from professors and professionals with real-world experience in their respective fields.
In the summer of 2023, I attended Envision’s Intensive Law and Trial program hosted at Stanford University. Through this program, I gained hands-on experience with the U.S. legal system, attended lectures from Stanford Law professors, and even participated in a mock trial at the San Francisco Courthouse. It was an unforgettable experience where I not only deepened my understanding of the legal field but also connected with students from across the country and the world. I left the program with valuable knowledge, new friendships, and a stronger sense of direction for my future.
If you’re looking for a way to make the most of your summer while still growing academically and as a leader, I highly encourage you to explore programs like Envision by WorldStrides. Whether you’re passionate about law, science, business, or something else entirely, there’s likely a program out there that aligns with your interests and goals. These experiences not only strengthen your knowledge and skills, but they also connect you with inspiring peers and mentors who can help shape your future. Don’t be afraid to challenge yourself on long breaks like summer; you might just discover something you’re truly passionate about.
